Flavored Cocoa Tea

Fall is my hands-down favorite season. Apparently, I used to ask if it was Halloween basically every other day of the year as a child. One of the things I enjoy most about fall is drinking warm things. Now, I am not a coffee drinker. It makes me jittery and I feel weak afterward. I love hot chocolate and tea so one day I started combining them.

I used to drink nestle chocolate breakfast mixes every day for breakfast. I usually mixed it with milk. I started making peppermint tea and then mixing in the nestle packet. This would work with virtually any flavor you can see tasting good with chocolate.

The other day I wanted hot chocolate but I did not have any. I opened the cabinet that should have contained the hot chocolate packets and saw a container of fruity tea. I decided to make my own fruity hot chocolate using baking cocoa. It was a happy moment.

I make many varieties of this so I will just tell you everything I have tried.

The Fancy Way

  • Make a little sachet of fruit tea
  • Boil in on the stovetop for the appropriate amount of time for that type of tea
  • Remove tea sachet
  • Add one Tablespoon of cocoa
  • Plus one Tablespoon of sugar (feel free to use less or honey)
  • Mix with a whisk
  • Pour in a fancy mug and feel fancy

The Sort of Fancy Quick Way

  • Fill mug a little over halfway with water
  • Add tea bag
  • Microwave for 30 seconds
  • Set for 2 minutes
  • Remove tea bag
  • Add ½ tablespoon of cocoa
  • ½ tablespoon of sugar or honey
  • Add milk to your liking
  • Whisk
  • Enjoy

The Quick Way
