Easy DIY Stained Picnic Table

We love enjoying meals with our friends and family. When we moved into our new house we had no outdoor eating. This easy DIY stained picnic table was fun to put together. The total project was probably about $115. We used a picnic table kit from Menards and oops stains from Home Depot.

The wood came cut and partially assembled. The table top and bench seat tops were already put together. We decided I should stain the wood before the table was finished.

I use strips of t shirt to apply my stains. The stains were oops paints from Home Depot. Most of them were desk stains. One of the stains turned out to basically be the color of the boards. I did some mixing to get a different shade.

I was working on multiple projects here so not all of these paints were for this project. The gold spray paint was not used for this project. I used the gold spray paint for the jewelry picture frame project and the jewelry box project.

As you can see, I did not really follow any type of pattern. If you look at the finished product, I actually ended up a gold seat next to the gold end of the table but I suppose that is okay.

My husband put it all together relatively quickly. I did not have to put any kind of sealer because it was desk stain.

I absolutely love it. It was a quick one day project.
