Many people have a type of souvenir they are drawn to. Perhaps you collect magnets or tiny spoons. I collect Christmas ornaments. I love remembering all the places I have been when I decorate my tree. Not all of my ornaments have names or explain where they are from. I wanted to create a display that showed off some of the ornaments from places I had a significant number of ornaments from.
It took my a bit to figure out how I could put the states and Europe on the boards. If I had a circuit cutter I’m sure if would have been extremely easy but I do not have one.
Have you ever transferred something to another page accidentally because you have pencil on other side? I taped a print of the images I wanted on the window. This allowed me to put pencil around the design I wanted to transfer.
I put the paper on one of the boards I had painted. I carefully traced the outlines of the images I wanted.
It turned out exactly the way I wanted. I was not certain that I could had draw the images and make them look accurate.
Since I wanted to use these to hold ornaments I wanted them to be gold and sparkly. I used a gold paint to trace and fill the images. While the paint was still wet I poured glitter on the paint.
I love this one! The idea for transferring the design is ingenious. So simple, but a huge time-saver.
