Cigar Box Organization

In Plano, TX  there is a cigar bar. They have a huge container of empty cigar boxes. They sell the boxes for $1. They have dozens of different styles. I’ve decided to use them to organize my craft supplies.

Since I’m going to be stacking my boxes, most of them I have just decoupaged.

I have been storing many things in the cigar boxes for a couple years now. I am not going to lie I have to open several to find what I am looking for so labels would probably be a good idea.

I have a thing for lace and having bags of lace isn’t crazy helpful when working on a project. Don’t get me wrong I still have bags of lace but I have jars and boxes of lace too. The boxes and jars help me find the lace I need easier.

Using the boxes also helps me keep them from getting tangled up. I found using clothes pins helps keep the bundles together nicely.

The same has been true with my thread. I like to buy the bags of thread at Goodwill when they are $1. Not that thread is the most expensive thing in the world or anything but I like having basically every color I could need. I also have a fishbowl of thread spools. The thread in the fishbowl somehow gets more tangled up than the ones in the box.

My craft cabinet is easier to organize since I can use most of the space. Before I had the upper part of each shelf mostly empty.

I use the boxes for all sorts of things. These are some boxes that have remained basically the same as they were before
