DIY Toy Food

I was really happy when I finished our little toy kitchen. I was not as happy when I discovered the cost of fake food for the kitchen. Scanning Pinterest for DIY toy food did not work out well. So I created my own way to cheaply and easily make toy food.

Your children can help you to select food pictures from magazines.  All you have to do is cut the food out and glue on thin cardboard. When you start the process you will be shocked by how many pictures in magazines are perfect for this project.

I was going to go out and buy the little dishes and food I had seen in IKEA. I did buy the little dishes because they are so adorable but the food was a little more than I wanted to spend. The dollar tree had some plastic food in shopping baskets. The small plastic fruits and veggies end up all over the house.

My oldest son and I had a great time find images in magazines to use for this project. I think the food is fun because it is so real looking. Plus, it does not end up all over the house.
