Broken Vintage Jewelry Redo

I have learned so many things from my grandmothers. How to find a good bargain, how to enjoy musicals, never turn left without a stoplight, and how to sew. This project shows how I took broken jewelry from my grandmother and made them into something whole again.

When I was visiting her lately she let me go through her sewing supplies. She had a jewelry box with costume jewelry inside. I enjoyed listening to her tell me stories about them. I found a couple of pieces that were broken. A few of the beads were discolored and missing stones but still beautiful.

One of the pieces was originally a fastener for a necklace. It was so beautiful I could not just use it to go behind my neck to be hidden under my hair. I decided to make it the focal piece of a new necklace.

I love taking something that was broken and forgotten and turning it into something new again. Above all, I love being reminded of my grandma when I see it.
