I needed steampunk goggles for the hat I was going to make. I thought I would try to find some goggles on wish or something. Just in case, I took a walk around my house to see if anything looked like it could be made into goggles.
Some baby food jar lids that were drying on the counter caught my eye. Regular jar lids were too big but baby food jar lids were perfect. The thickness was wrong. Gluing two together made a better thickness.
Spray painted turned them a copper color. I glued them to lace for the straps. The nose bridge was made out of a different piece of lace.
I had some cellophane in my Let’s Resin kit. Originally, I was going to put resin mixed with silver in the jar lids to look like glass but I rather like the cellophane.
I am really happy with how the goggles turned out. I am also really happy about the fact that I really only had to pay for spray paint.
