I learned how to make paper beads when I was looking for cheap fundraisers. When I lead crafts at Bible camp I combined making paper beads with your favorite scripture. No one can read the scripture that is written on the beads but it is still comforting to know it’s there.
When you see your beads you are reminded of the scripture that is written on them and it keeps in fresh in your mind. Scriptures that bring peace or healing are good to think about. You can also share your scripture if someone asks you about the necklace.
If you are going to be using other beads with your paper beads I would suggest matching your marker or pen color to the beads you want. You will write your scripture(s) on any kind of paper you wish. Fill your whole paper with as much color as possible if using white. You could write on a page from a magazine and then you would not have to worry about colors at all.
If you make a beautiful piece of paper with your scripture on it make sure to take a picture. You will take a ruler and mark out long skinny triangles. Cut out all the triangles. Using a wooden skewer roll up the paper starting with the thick end. Add glue towards the tip on the triangle. Paint modge podge or resin over the beads.

Step 1
Select a color scheme based on the beads you will be using.
Step 2
On a regular sheet of paper write out your verse or verses. You could also write a prayer and add other doodles.
Step 3
Using a ruler, draw long triangles.The whole length of the page. I would make a variety of widths. I would not go much bigger than an inch.
Step 4
Cut out long triangles.
Step 5
Using a skewer, start with the wide end of the paper and roll the paper tightly.
Step 6
Add glue to the tip of the paper and finish rolling up.
Step 7
Allow drying
Step 8
Paint with modge podge
