Wearable Blanket

I saw an ad that modeled a super cute hooded blanket dress. When I went to the store to purchase it, the blanket was one size fits all and unfitted. I thought I can make an unfitted wearable blanket, so I did.

I folded a blanket in half. I used electric tape, but I’m sure basically any tape would work, to mark off two rectangles. The two rectangles were removed to form the sleeves and trunk. Next, I sewed straight lines following my cuts.

Using a ruler, mark a line directly in the middle of the sleeves about a foot long. This should be at the fold on top for the head to fit through.

Voila! A wearable blanket.

If you are really wanted a hood, that is pretty simple too. I took two of the rectangles and laid them one on top of the other. I stiched 1 short side and the adjacent long side. After the pieces are joined the portion can be sewn to the back of the head opening.
