My mother has many good ideas. She gave me an older traveling case. I thought it would be fun to paint it. I was going to use it for a different project but since I had the metal spray paint from the goggles I decided to add it to the steampunk project. It was relatively simple to make the case look steampunk.
I taped up all the metal on the case and spray painted the outside. The spray paint looked like beat up copper. I removed the tape after it dried.
My craft cabinet has a lot of odds and ends. I went through all my kits and beads boxes and took out everything I thought might work. I wanted it to look like it was spilling over the side. Resin was used to attach the items on top and hot glue to go down the side.
