Old T-shirts to Fun Pillows

My oldest son is obsessed with Pokemon. We play it, watch it, and talk about it non-stop. My three-year-old was calling his yellow stuffed Biscuit dog Pikachu. I’ve made stuff toys before so I thought I would make him a Pikachu.

I dug through my thrift store donation bags until I found a yellow shirt.

This was a very interesting shirt as you can see. I cut a rectangle out of the bottom of the shirt. I sewed a straight line along the bottom seem. Next, I made little arms by make two smaller rectangles.

I sewed shapes that look similar to Pikachu ears and stitched them to the part I had already sewed up. The arms were attached before stuffing the body.

I thought about making his tail but I decided it would be much more simple to draw it.

After I had attached the ears, arms, and drawn the face and back, I stuffed the pillow using an old pillow.

I stitched him up and he was done. My older son needed one too of course so I decide Charmander would be the easiest. I did basically the same thing with the Charmander pillow except I added a tummy circle.

Don’t be nervous about drawing the faces just watch a step by step how to draw video. Youtube had just about any cartoon you would like to draw.

What character would you like to try?
