Lace spray paint shoes

I had these slip-on shoes that I just loved, but they got dirty almost instantly. I washed them a few times but that was a hassle. I came into a large quantity of teal lace and I thought I would try lace and spray paint to cover up the dirty fabric. I am not in love with the outcome but I know how to do it better next time.

I did not want the soles to get spray paint on them or the fake sueded part on the back so I covered them in painters tape. I wrapped the lace around in one long strip. If I did this again I would tie each piece of lace on separately so that the lace would be tight against the shoe.

I used the spray paint from my steampunk crafts. If I were to do this again I would not choose a color that looks dirty. I would go with something bright or black. I spray painted the shoes with the lace on and let them dry.

You can see the lace pattern but It would have turned out better if the lace had been tighter on all parts of the shoes.

I do not love them but I did them a lot better than dirty-looking shoes. I also know better how to do the project if I should ever need to.

I do have some cool teal/ bronze lace now that I will do something with someday.

Have you ever used lace and spray paint?
